Slip and Fall Season is Around the Corner

Winter is on its way, and that got me thinking about a client I helped a year or so ago. She fell on a thick piece of ice at her apartment complex and broke her ankle, which led to a blood clot settling in one of her lungs. That's a very dangerous condition - and it was caused by the negligence of the apartment owner for not fixing a broken drain pipe.

Slip and fall injuries can happen anywhere, on just about any surface - and when you least expect it. Common places for Denver slip and fall accidents are grocery stores, big box stores, restaurants or any place hazardous conditions exist. Falls and injuries can be caused by liquid or food that's spilled on the floor, boxes or other obstacles left in an aisle to trip over, items that fall from a high shelf or many other dangerous situations.

Injuries from falls can be minor, require little attention and result in some bruises and sore spots. But having your feet go out from under you taking a terrible fall can lead to much more serious injuries and may lead to expensive medical treatment.
